HUST promotes cooperation with Northern European partners

August 28th – September 04th, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son, HUST President visited three countries (Finland, Denmark, Sweden) for further cooperation opportunities in the field of education during the accompanying trip of Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training in Northern Europe.

During the trip of MOET delegation and other Vietnamese universities led by Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son, HUST President visited Embassies, Ministries of Education, other related Ministries, and universities and training institutions in 3 Northern European countries.

In his working visit trip, the President effectively met and exchanged with the partner universities, new HEIs, R&D institutes and industries which have potentials in bilateral and multilateral cooperation  in future.On August 28, 2017, in signing ceremony of 18 other Vietnamese universities in Finland, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially signed an MOU with Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) aiming at creating more research opportunities in the field of energy and environment.

During the visit to Sweden, as one of the long-time partner in the Erasmus Mundus (Lotus project) and Erasmus + scholarship program, HUST officially signed  a new general agreement with Uppsala University in order to focus more on double degree training program cooperation and student, staff exchange prioritizing for ELITECH program development on September 1, 2017.

Uppsala University is a leading research and first-class education institution in Sweden, both universities sent and received more than 10 academic staff, students who exchanged, studied academics and research from both sides’ mobility. One of the great achievements of this exchange is to bring back a new in-depth exchange programs, and further promoting cooperation in ELITECH model at HUST.

It is hoped that after the President’s visit, HUST will open more opportunities for cooperation with universities, industries and training organizations in Northwestern European countries.

Exciting final night of the contest “Germany Vietnam Best Business Idea Award” in 2016

Germany Vietnam Best Business Idea Award ” is an annual competition organized by the cooperation among the University of Leipzig (Germany) and Hanoi University of Technology and Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM). The competition underwent 3 rounds. At December 28, the best 5 teams of the competition met in the exciting final round.

With the aim to bring the exciting experience of starting a business, with a chance to work with youthful and dynamic contestants to raise the basic knowledge of management, organization, and planning business, 4th year organized innovative Debut Vietnam Germany in 2016 has received the attention of a large number of students at universities and academies in the region.

After 2 months, the competition has attracted the participation of 50 teams with 70 ideas and hundreds of contestants from universities nationwide.

On behalf of Hanoi University of Technology, Dr. Tran Van Top, wished the teams would be confident of presenting their business ideas to convince the jury and the audience: “I am very impressed with the scale of the organization as well as the significance of this start-up competition in general and the professional preparation of the organization team. I hope, after the competition, despite winning or not, the teams stay committed with their ideas, as its criteria is to accumulate experience and build relationships”.

Prof. Tran Van Binh – Head of the Jury said: “Germany Vietnam Best Business Idea Award has now become an interesting playground for students with creative passion and desire to start-up. In 2016, there are many projects, 5 teams in the final night as the team’s ideas meet new start-up ideas and is full of prospects. Through the competition the students can introduce the idea of ​​starting a business, businesses also see the new direction came from the youth factor”.

In the final night, the crews have 7 minutes to present and pitch their project and answer questions from the jury. With its excellent project “magic box-pro” came from Catun team includes 2 members: Tran Anh Quang – Grade Control and Automation 3 – School of Electrical Engineering and Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy – accounting class K58 – School of Economics and Management has won the first prize.
